The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education

The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education is a physician-led nonprofit organization based in Scranton, Pennsylvania. It is one of the largest HRSA-funded Teaching Health Center Graduate Medical Education consortiums in the United States. The center focuses on academic medical education while serving vulnerable and underserved populations in Northeast Pennsylvania and beyond. The Wright Center offers ACGME-accredited residency and fellowship programs in various specialties, including Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Cardiovascular Disease. It trains nearly 200 physician learners and provides comprehensive primary health care services, including medical, dental, and behavioral health care, through a medical home model. The curriculum emphasizes community-focused training, chronic disease management, and preventive care, with unique experiences such as a mobile medical and dental unit serving marginalized populations. The center also fosters research addressing health disparities and collaborates with community health organizations to enhance care delivery.
